Adolescent Violence: How to Work Towards a Correction

Adolescent Violence: How to Work Towards a Correction

Adolescent violence is a growing concern in today’s society, with recent reports citing an increase in violent crime among teenagers and young adults. It’s a complex issue and one that requires a multifaceted approach to address. Fortunately, Kaizen Academy, a boys' residential treatment center located in Provo/Salt Lake City, has developed an effective plan to help adolescents and young adults to break the cycle of violence and become productive, responsible members of society.

At Kaizen Academy, we recognize that adolescent violence often stems from underlying issues such as anger, depression, and low self-esteem. We address these issues through our clinical approach to changes in behavior, which includes individual and group therapy, family counseling, and educational and recreational activities. We also offer specialized services such as sexual violence treatment and behavior modification therapy. These services address the root causes of adolescent violence, helping teens to gain the skills and insights they need to better manage their behavior. Where to Start?

At Kaizen Academy, we specialize in helping boys and young men who are struggling with adolescent violence. Our residential treatment center provides the necessary level of clinical care and support to help these young men make positive, lasting changes in their behavior.

We start by identifying the underlying causes of the violence. This can include mental health issues, substance abuse, or a traumatic past. We then use a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy to help them learn new ways of responding to stressful situations and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
