Rosco Smith, CSW

Therapist

Rosco was born and raised in Concord, New Hampshire, where his early exposure to the mental health field sparked a lifelong commitment to helping others. As a child, he often accompanied his father, who rented apartments to individuals transitioning from the New Hampshire State Hospital. Observing his father’s genuine empathy and respect for those facing significant challenges shaped Rosco’s belief that all individuals deserve compassion, dignity, and the opportunity for growth.

After relocating to Utah in 2004, Rosco began his career in residential treatment, working with adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities and problematic sexual behaviors. These formative experiences laid the groundwork for his calm, relational, and mentorship-oriented approach—supporting individuals in developing stability, connection, and purpose in the aftermath of trauma.

Rosco earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Utah Valley University in 2016 and his Master of Social Work from Utah State University in 2025. During his graduate internship at Kaizen Academy, he developed a strong alignment with Kaizen’s mission and treatment philosophy. He joined the clinical team as a Certified Social Worker (CSW) in August 2025.

At Kaizen Academy, Rosco utilizes a strength-based, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused approach within the sex-specific treatment model. He works collaboratively with students and families to foster accountability, promote healing, and support sustainable, long-term change. Rosco is dedicated to building meaningful therapeutic relationships and helping individuals recognize their inherent worth and capacity for growth.
